Utilizing TD-GC-MS System and Gas Sensor Array Based on Surface Acoustic Wave for Red Wines Discrimination

In this experiment, we use thermal desorption gas chromatography mass spectrometer system (TD-GC-MS) to find the unique marker volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in various kinds of red wine odors, and then coated our surface acoustic wave gas sensors (SAW gas sensors) with different polymer thin films to capture the marker VOCs of red wine odor. According to the mass loading effect, when the marker VOC is adsorbed onto the polymer film, the frequency of the SAW gas sensor decrease, and then compare the value of frequency shift with the existing database to distinguish which grape variety the red wine is.
